Werner Veigel (November 9, 1928 in The Hague - May 2, 1995 in Hamburg) was a German journalist and news presenter.
After finishing school he began to work in a travel agency. In 1950 he started as a news presenter on Radio Hilversum. In 1954 Veigel began to work as journalist on Nordwestdeutscher Rundfunk. Since 1966 he worked for TV news programm Tagesschau on German TV channel ARD. The Tagesschau is both the oldest and the most watched news bulletin on German television.
In a relationship with Carlheinz Faust since 1955, Veigel was open about his homosexuality from 1995 onwards. Veigel died of a brain tumor in 1995.
